Lake Cochichewick is located in Essex County, Massachusetts, in the town of North Andover. The small metropolis of Lawrence is situated just east of the lake.

This lake is only 32 miles north of Boston Logan International Airport. The closest location for urgent care is Lawrence General Hospital, less than four miles east.

Life on the Water

Lake Cochichewick has a surface area of 506 acres, with an average depth of 23 feet and a maximum depth of 49 feet.

Special rules and regulations apply to Cochichewick, as it's the area's only drinking water lake. Visitors and residents aren't allowed to swim or use gasoline/diesel-powered craft here, among other rules.

Despite these rules, it is still a fun and gorgeous lake to live on. Take your kayak or canoe out on the water and soak in views of the wooded shoreline.

While you're out on the water, cast a line. Anglers will catch various fish here, like bass, chain pickerel, catfish, bluegill, sunfish, and yellow perch.

Things to Do Near the Lake

There is no shortage of fun things to do near Lake Cochichewick!

Visit nearby Den Rock Park. This 120-acre nature preserve features wooded walking trails and a granite face for rock climbing.

Looking for some fun for the whole family? Further to the north is Canobie Lake Park which features roller coasters, water rides, and carnival games.

There are also several golf courses nearby, like North Andover Country Club on the shores of the lake, Black Swan Country Club, and Far Corner Golf.
